While collars were worn in Europe during the Renaissance, and ruffs and collars in the early 17th Century, it wasn't until the mid 17th Century that the necktie's ancestor appeared.

During the Thirty Years War, which raged across Europe from 1618 to 1648, Croatian mercenaries employed by the King of France wore knotted kerchiefs slung casually around their necks, with the ends hanging loose. Fashion-minded French officers adopted the kerchief not only for its style but also for its utility. It didn't require the elaborate bleaching, ironing and starching that their ruff collars needed.

The style was brought back to the court of King Louis XIV, and by 1650, the French nobility had adopted it. The fashion soon spread throughout Europe and around the world.

This story is about a girl who trying to cheer up her dad from a tired day of work. A small act like that, I realised, can actually change the world. So much can happen when we work, but so much more can happen when we work cheerfully.

Just by cheering people up, we can help them care more for each other, help them do their work better, and help make this world a more pleasant place to live in. There would be more love, and that, as everyone should know, is the most important thing we need to have a pleasurable life.

So why not start small? Drop that ugly frown, put on your best smile, go out into the cold, dark world and spread some light, warmth and love to those who need it. You will make a difference...

Laughter is good for our health..it reduces stress, improves memory and helps keep our hearts healthy.Laughing for 10 to 15 minutes increases our heart rate by 10-20 per cent plus humour increases the production and effectiveness of natural killer cells that stomp out germs...

Your body creates energy from nutrients, oxygen and invigorating stimuli, such as fragrance. Natural mood, beauty and body boosters such as these suit our increasingly busy lives because they provide an instant lift and are so simple to do each day.Massage your ears. According to traditional Chinese medicine, stimulating acupressure points on your ears increases blood circulation, and thus energy. Vigorously rub your ears all over for about a minute. They should start to feel hot and, almost immediately, you should feel more alert. Start at the lobe and massage to the top of the ear.Taking a power shower. Sprinkle eucalyptus oil on the floor of your shower before stepping in. Stand under steaming hot water and rub your body with loofah. The eucalyptus scent stimulates your brain, while the hot water and the rub-down increase blood flow, sending oxygen to your cells where it's transformed into energy.Wake up with a break. Your body can only handle about 45 minutes of sitting without becoming fatigued. Get up and march around briskly for three to five minutes, or do some quick stretches or squats. Make a splash. Dip a face washer in cold water and wet both the front and back of your neck. Then gargle with cold water for a couple of seconds. Your neck and throat are rich with sensitive nerves, and by stimulating them with the cold water, you shock them into the ‘fight-or-flight' reaction, which temporarily shifts more blood towards your brain. My comment:Peoples nowadays are easily getting tired because of work load so,its better to get a fast source of energy to charge up the body system...and the best way is by following the tips given..

1.stretch every extremity for 15s
2.brush your tongue for 1 min
3.drink a glass of water
4.check your morning calender
5.kiss all people you love
I think these tips will surely brighten up someone's day if he/she apply it....

Friend

My definition of a friend is...some one who cares about you and helps you when you are in trouble.A friend like that is very precious to me,because I always find myself in trouble especially in my studies.A friend does not have to be 100% honest to me,sometimes people have their own secret that is very hard to shared...a friend also have to be an open minded one so I can talk with him about anything......
If I have to choose a friend, the characteristic of that person is he or she should be friendly one.A friendly person are easy to talk with...thus by having a normal conversation, its easy to know each other more. For me,all the personality of a friend should have will appear by its self if your friend is a friendly type of person. For my last word...as my pen becoming thirsty...I wish to all Happy Friendship Day...for the month of august is the month of friendship..."Happy Friendship Day"
